ARRIVAL BY TRAIN:
When arriving at the main station in Split centre, you will be 8 km west from the meeting venue. To get to the hotel, taxi or UBER is recommended. Hotel’s limousine service is available on request (please contact email@example.com).
Connection between Split downtown and the meeting venue is provided by bus lines No. 30 and 60 which leaves from the station in the Split city harbour approx. every 15 minutes. However, in the peak touristic season we recommend you take a taxi or UBER. The one way taxi fare is approximately EUR 40,00 and it takes about 30 minutes to reach the hotel. For information about the hotel transfer (guests) services please contact the Concierge at firstname.lastname@example.org.
On A1 highway take the exit at Dugopolje - Split and continue down the hill to Split, then follow the route to east (direction to Omiš, Makarska or Dubrovnik). In about 8 km you will reach Le Méridien Lav Hotel on the seaside.
ATMs are available in Split city center.
CLIMATE AND CLOTHING:
April comes to Split with higher temperatures and a bit more rain, typical for the spring shifts across the Mediterranean and Adriatic shorelines. The overall average temperature climbs up to 13° Celsius (56° Fahrenheit). The lowest recorded in April touches the 9° Celsius margin, especially during the crisp nights, but this is an improvement on March and the highs reach 17° Celsius. The spikes happen particularly in the last two weeks of the month, and given ongoing climate changes, expect them to reach 20° Celsius towards the last few days closest to May.
American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard, Mastercard, Visa and some other credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants and shops.

In Split pharmacies can be found all over the town. For overnight service there are always one or two pharmacies in every district.
Split center is a „unique historic pearl“ on Adriatic coast and major shopping centers are located in suburbs, outside the ancient downtown. However, one could still find many small shops in narrow streets in the city center.
Smoking is not permitted at airports, railway stations and restaurants and is only allowed in specific designated areas.
Value added tax (VAT) at 25 % is levied in Croatia on most goods and is included in the price.
If you buy non-edible goods in Split you are entitled to a VAT-Refund. If you enter a shop with a Tax-Free sign outside, ask for a special form. This form must be stamped when you get through Customs - but be prepared to show your goods, which must still be in their original packing. The tax is refunded either at the border or sent to the address on the envelop containing the cheque.
International/domestic calls can be made from Le Méridien Lav Hotel and from your hotel room. Croatia has adopted the GSM standard und UMTS standard for mobile phones. Le Méridien Lav Hotel and environs are well covered by all national network operators.
The time zone in Croatia is GMT plus 1 hour. Additionally, Croatia has a “Summer Time”, meaning that clocks are put forward one hour for the period March to October.
Tipping should be at your own discretion and for good service only. As a guide, add 10 % to a restaurant bill.
