General Information

FOOD

Beverages will be available throughout the meetings. There are two official coffee breaks in addition to a lunch being provided for delegates each day of the conference.

 

ATMs

ATMs are available in the city centre and most hotels.

 

CREDIT CARDS

American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard, Mastercard, Visa and some other credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants and shops.


CURRENCY

The official currency in China is the Renminbi (RMB or CNY) 
The basic unit is the yuan (also known as "kuai"), which equals 10 jiao (or "mao"), which is then divided into 10 fen. 
Paper currency comes in 1,2,5,10,50 and 100 yuan notes. 
Paper jiao come in denominations of 1, 2, and 5. 
1 yuan, 1 and 5 jiao, and 1, 2, and 5 fen coins are even common used in larger cities.

 

ELECTRICITY SUPPLY

Electricity in China is 220V, 50Hz . Plug sockets are round with two round-pin sockets.

 

INSURANCE

The Organising Committee cannot accept any responsibility for accidents, losses, and/or damages which may occur. Participants are advised to obtain travel, medical, personal accident and luggage insurance in their home country prior to departure.

 

PASSPORT, VISA AND VACCINATION

Visitors to Peoples Republic of China must be in possession of a valid passport or travel document with a minimum validity of six months beyond the intended visiting period.

Participants are advised to check with their local travel agent and/or local Chinese Embassy regarding passport, visa and vaccination requirements.
