Conditions for ExCBs

To be eligible to join the IECEx, a certification body (CB) must be first endorsed by the IECEx Member Body and pass an initial peer assessment. The member bodies then vote to approve the acceptance of the CB into the IECEx Scheme.
Then, in order to remain a member, it must be regularly reassessed.
 
Prerequisites for acceptance include that:

  • the certification body be located in a participating country
  • its certification operations are recognized within its own country
  • through peer assessment, it can demonstrate its ability to comply with the IECEx rules
  • through peer assessment, it can demonstrate competence and knowledge of the relevant IEC and ISO International Standards
  • the certification body may not be part of, or be under the influence of, any manufacturing interests
  • the CB has a Ex testing laboratory (ExTL) within its organization, or will have an agreement to work with an accepted ExTL. The ExTL must participate in the IECEx Proficiency Testing programs that are within is Scope.

Approved IECEx Certification Bodies (ExCBs) Certified Equipment Scheme

The following organisations have successfully completed the IECEx assessment process and are approved to operate within the IECEx Certified Equipment Scheme and to issue IECEx Test Reports (ExTRs), IECEx Quality Assessment Reports (QARs) and the Online Certificate of Conformity.

Note: The acronyms included in the Name field below are previous CBs names that may exist on certificates and reports, the CB noted is responsible for those reports.
